K.P. System: An Introduction
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) is a system of astrological predictions conceived by the great Indian astrology guru, Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti. It is based on finer points of Indian and Western astrology and borrows important concepts from many other branches of traditional Vedic astrology. Regarded as one the most accurate systems of the present time, the KP System of astrology is easier to learn and apply. It also provides a higher degree of accuracy and systemic nature.
Salient features of the KP system
- The KP system gives more importance to the Constellation or Star divisions of the Zodiac, which are most desired for prediction.
- Each Constellation or Star division is divided into 9 subdivisions called ‘SUBS’. These objective subdivisions are as per the Vimshottari Dashas Divisions System.
- K.P. System uses K.P. Ayanamsa as opposed to Lahiri Ayanamsa mostly used in the Vedic System. The difference between the two (Kala) is about 6 minutes.
- The system uses Cusps which are house or bhava beginnings like the western systems, as opposed to the Vedic System which uses House Centres (i.e) Bhava Madhyas.
- KP uses the Ruling Planets methodology which states that the planets at the time of judgments and fructifications are always the same. It’s a divine guidance.
- House characteristics are given more importance than planetary characteristics.
- KP system discards some popular and classical astrology principles like divisional charts and yogas. The planet in its Dasa gives results as per its Nakshatra (Star-Lord). Planet represents the SOURCE, the respective Planet’s Star-Lord represents the EFFECTS, RESULTS and that Planet’s Sub gives an idea about the FINAL RESULT.
